Overview

Mealtime is an especially important part of every resident’s day in our community. Under the supervision of the Dining Services Director, the Assistant Dining Services Director works to maintain the highest level of resident dining satisfaction and safety. This person assists with team member scheduling, food safety compliance, and many administrative tasks, such as kitchen inventory. The right individual will have superb customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and enjoy providing a wonderful dining experience to residents and guests

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of dining team personnel, including hiring, orientation, scheduling, and evaluating.
  • Assist in leading in-service training programs for staff
  • Perform host/hostess duties during mealtimes and monitor dining room service
  • Ensure that team members are using proper dining room etiquette and meet food safety standards
  • Manage inventory and budget for all kitchen equipment, small wares, and food
  • Distribute and post daily/weekly dining menus
  • Monitor resident meal attendance
  • Manage special event catering with Dining Services Director
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, personal hygiene, and food preparation, handling, and storage
  • Weekend manager-on-duty when requested
  • Other tasks as requested by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Servsafe Certification required
  • Previous healthcare/restaurant/waitstaff and leadership experience is preferred
